Frederick the Wise was a secondary protagonist in the 2003 film Luther. Prince Frederick was a member of the German nobility who became the Elector, or ruler of the Holy Roman Empire's state of Saxony, and was headquartered in Wittenberg. The Holy Roman Emperor Charles V was his nephew. Over the years Frederick built up an impressive collection of relics that he kept in his castle.
