Customers pulling into a gas station (circa 1950's America) would have to yell to get the grease monkey off his lazy ass just so they could pay 40 cents for the privilege of having a C-student employed and not in jail or roaming wildly on the streets. The most effective cry was "fill her up" because it reminded the grease monkey of family reunions.
