A hypercomm was a form of hyperwave communications. It could be active on multiple channels at once. Hypercomms were used by Imperial forces during the Galactic Civil War, by Imperial probe droids and by Darth Vader. Lord Vader used a hypercomm suite during his search for the Rebels to communicate instantly with Emperor Palpatine in full real-time holograph format. It was also rumored that there was a hypercomm installed in the Emperor's personal shuttle.
