Lieutenant Sanders was a Starfleet science division officer in the 2370s. In 2370, Sanders was assigned to the Federation science station on Calder II. The base was warned of a potential raid and attempted to stall the raiders until the USS Enterprise-D could arrive to intercept. When Commander William T. Riker aboard the mercenary vessel told Sanders to drop the shields, Sanders refused to do this and stated he would contact the Federation Science Council, while Riker remain in orbit. (TNG: "Gambit, Part I" ) Sanders was played by actor Derek Webster.
