Van Hohenheim is one of minor characters of action-sci fi anime Fullmetal Alchemist is a ancient and extremely powerful Alchemist who had tragic past and connection with Father. In the Fullmetal Alchemist manga he is refered to as "Van Hohenheim," not Hohenheim Elric. As Edward Elric points out in book 14 of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga, "Elric is my mother's name!" He was also father of Edward Elric in the original 2003 anime.
