"The Bones" (real name The Blarney Stone Tavern) is a bar on 72nd Street, across from the south entrance of the New York Museum of Natural History. It is frequented by the museum staff, who appreciate the low prices and casual atmosphere. The owner is a man named Boylan. The Bones derives its nickname from the decor; every wall and ceiling surface is covered with animal bones arranged in rows and patterns. Boylan claims that people bring him the bones that he uses to decorate.
