When Sandra Cummings wants to go to a Mardi Gras ball, she insists Dr. Marcus Kemp accompany her. He agrees, surrupticiously sending his mechanical double, Robot Marcus Kemp, in his stead. The robot doesn't have many social graces and is highly motivated in the self-preservation department. Robot Kemp arrives at the ball after killing a cabbie for threatening to kill him for not paying his fare. Sandra coaxes him onto the terrace for a kiss, the robot thinks she said "kill". He decides she wants to kill him, and he beats her to the punch by strangling her to death.
