The Summer of the Golden Plain, named for the bounty of yellow blossoms covering the plains, was the season in which Mattimeo, Tim and Tess Churchmouse, Sam Squirrel, and Cynthia Bankvole were kidnapped by Slagar the Cruel. Matthias, Jess Squirrel, and Basil Stag Hare then set out to pursue the evil fox. Also during this season, General Ironbeak attacked Redwall Abbey. Honey bees were especially productive during this season.
