The Galactic Federation of Free Alliances is a fictional government from the Star Wars novel series, more commonly called the Galactic Alliance for short. Extrinsically, "GFFA" (the acronym for the Galactic Alliance) stands for Galaxy Far, Far Away, and refers to the Star Wars galaxy as a whole. The name was coined by its first chief of state, Cal Omas, during the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion following the New Republic's decisive victory at the Battle of Ebaq 9.
