Bonwit-Teller was seen in the morning time. Then a bomb that was planted by Simon Gruber and his men exploded, damaging the front part of the building and the force of the explosion sends some parked cars, including an Atlantic Courier truck off the ground. It was then revealed that the bombing of Bonwit-Teller was to have Simon get the attention of the New York City Police Department, mainly John McClane. It is unknown how many were killed or injured in the bombing but in the novelization it revealed that the store was destroyed before it opened.
