In a run-in with George Costanza, Gary tells George that he had cancer. George is upset that Jerry Seinfeld knew but he didn't. He confronts Fogel, who reveals that he never had cancer. Jerry gave him a gift certificate for a toupee to cover up the baldness. He uses the toupee to gain confidence and pick up women. George allows Jerry to confront Gary about lying and Jerry angrily retaliates. In "The Face Painter", it is revealed that Gary had died. Jerry claims that he died in a car wreck when he adjusted the toupee and lost control of the car. His famous quote: “Good for you, Jack.”
