Xoten is a genetically engineered saiyan who was kidnapped by a prior to the near-extinction of his people. Ater his kidnapping he was genetically enhanced, most namely so that he had retractable claws that could extract DNA from people and add their abilities to his own and so that, instead of becoming a great ape he transformed into a sasquatch-like creature which is much better at combat than normal great apes. After breaking out of the facility that "made" him, he came in contact with a namekian and stole his abilities.
