Joe Dan Jumper is the son of Miccosukee Chief Jumper. He is also a former LRRP (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol), served in Grenada until he was wounded and took a Section 8 discharge after a stay in the VA hospital, later diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Joe Dan later joined up with other former LRRPs to stop what they perceive is a "selling out" to drug dealers by the Chief to get money from the dealer Levec for needed improvements into the reservation, including a new clinic and housing, and began raiding Levec's deals, stealing and destroying the drugs, then confronted his father at tribal council about the money source.
