A biomolecular scanner was a piece of scanning equipment which could be used in surgery. The servo-armature of a Borg medical repair drone, recovered by the USS Voyager in 2375, integrated the functions of such a scanner, a laser scalpel and a micro-suture into one instrument. (VOY: "Dark Frontier")
