Takashi Anzai (安西 崇, Anzai Takashi) is a video game designer and planner. He currently works for Square-Enix as Dragon Quest X's chief planner. Anzai joined Koei in April 1993 as a game designer for Rekoeition games. When Blizzard's Diablo hit Japan's shores, Anzai played it to death. He soon became enthralled by the future of online games, which continues to be the major focus of his profession. He admits in retrospect that Apsaras may look too similar to Diablo, but he feels that its intricacies distinguishes itself from its spiritual base.
