The Caravan class was a Manticoran class of freighters. The Royal Manticoran Navy's Logistics Command used them for rear area supply. Fifteen of them were modified into Trojan-class Q-ships as part of project Project Trojan Horse, to serve in anti-piracy operations in the Silesian Confederacy. When their successful mission made pirates somewhat wary to attack Caravan-class freighters, the Manticoran merchant cartels ordered even more of the latter for their shipping in Silesia.
