Dedicated Energy Receptor (DER) targeting control rooms were located in several tiers below the hull centerline of a Torpedo Sphere. The operators of each room coordinated the use of dedicated energy receptors to locate weak spots in a planetary shield and the firing of the four torpedo tubes clustered around the facility when a weak spot was identified.
