Irina was an Orion slave girl and daughter to the sister of Orion Syndicate head Melani D'ian. Irina joined Melani at the negotiations between the Syndicate and the Klingon Empire in 2394, where the two posed as slaves of Hassan the Undying. Irina danced on the first night of negotiations, and was later given to the Klingon chief negotiator as a personal gift. Melani later complimented her sister on Irina's skill and training.
