The Kuswacht, or Coast Guard, is the armed naval force of Saridan. However, while considered part of the five uniformed services of the nation, the Coast Guard is a green-water naval force which operates mostly within Saridan's territorial waters. Because of this role, the Coast Guard consists exclusively of patrol, escort and support vessels. Roles of the Kustwacht are diverse but include: The Coast Guard has a strong relationship with its counterparts in Cildania and Al'Badara who jointly patrol the Strait of Life, often referred to as Zeeëngten (The Narrows).
