Nextel Communications (now Sprint Nextel Corporation) was a U.S. telecommunications company famous for inventing the push-to-talk feature. They had 20 million customers in 2006. In 2006 the company was aquired by Sprint to merge to form the Sprint Nextel Corporation. They were primary sponsor of NASCAR's Cup series until 2007.
