Minecraft: Education Edition is an educational version of Minecraft designed for classroom use. It is developed by Mojang and Microsoft Studios, and contains features that make Minecraft easy to use in classrooms. It was announced on January 19, 2016 and was fully released on November 1, 2016. Minecraft: Education Edition was released to educators as an early access version on June 9, 2016.
