The League of Free Worlds, also known as the League, is a resistance organisation dedicated to freeing the Colonies from the oppression of Earth and to maintain order throught the Colonies under a Unified Defence Alliance. The League is ruled by an unknown figure called The Father, and was controlled by a Defence Council based on the planet Acheron in the Gallonigher system and was one of the many systems that were supplying Earth with the raw materials to keep the Earth Empire afloat.
