Ruth Bonaventure was a female Human civilian in the 23rd century. She was one of three women Harcourt Fenton Mudd was ferrying to Ophiucus III when the USS Enterprise intercepted him in 2266. Originally from a pelagic planet, she had few marriage prospects, so she accepted Mudd's offer to take her where her odds were better. Mudd introduced her to the Venus drug, which seemed to make her more alluring and feminine.
