The Braun Group was a star system in the Terran Federation. It consisted of several small planets upon which were built hangers to store hundreds of obsolete and retired, but still functioning, starships of the Terran Defence Authority. The ships underwent annual evaluations, were guarded by a small TDA garrison, and were accompanied by older ground vehicles and support vessels. In the Laguna Wars of 2219/2220, the ships of the Braun Group became the core of Bernd Gerling's "Mothball Fleet."
