The Shop Assistant served Peter Barlow and Leanne Battersby in a games shop when they were buying a Christmas present for their son, Simon Barlow. He ascertained that Simon had a PlayStation 4 and enquired about the genre the lad was interested in: racing, football or fantasy. Finding out that it was all three from Leanne, he made her laugh when he asked her and "her husband" to follow him. Peter was put out that she found the comment so amusing.
