Mixcal was born in the Aztec-occupied Yucatan Peninsula to native Mayan parents. He was sent to Tenochtitlan as part of a tribute shipment and became a slave at the age of eight. He was granted his freedom and made an Aztec citizen at twenty, but never forgot that he was stolen from his true home. He joined a rebellion force within the Aztec capital and was recruited from there by the Benefactors. He is strong from many years of hard labor, and wears a heavy-armor battle suit which is powerful, bristling with artillery, but somewhat unresponsive at times -- a perfect mirror to his withdrawn personality.
