A Star Sprite is one of the things that can make the powers of the Marvelous Compass unstable and unable to work. It looks like a star and a Shine Sprite combined. Minister Crepe sent Luigi out to find all seven of them, hoping that with the only thing that could stop the Compass would be in his control. Luigi collected them all, but Crepe got hold of them, making Luigi's fight against him harder.
