The Dangerous Old Books Society (DOBS) is a club formed by Fenella Feverfew and Griselda Blackwood. The other members are Mildred Hubble, Maud Moonshine, Enid Nightshade, Jadu Wali and Ruby Cherrytree. The supervising teacher is Miss Drill. The club meets in the storeroom under the Cackle's Academy Library, and was formed after Ethel Hallow and Drusilla Paddock refused to let Mildred join the Cauldron Club. DOBS was responsible for the student newspaper 'The Unfairground' and the resulting student rebellion.
