The Sprite-class Combat Droid was designed to fulfill a scout and light assault role in a ground force. As such it is lightly armored and lightly armed, but its motor functions are incredibly fine tuned, giving it very fast speeds. Designed to be deployed in packs, the Sprite fulfills its role very well. In addition to being controlled by a central droid control unit, the Sprite has the function, if one of the droids within the pack has been designated as a leader, to link their droid brains together to allow them to fight with a greater level of efficiency and accuracy.
