You can help by expanding it.The North Atlantic Treaty Organization' (NATO)' is a multinational military defense league composed of the United States, Alaska, England, Portugal, Colombia, Iceland, Oceania, Turkey, Syria and Egypt. This ten-member organization, which is the backbone of the nameless but recognized geopolitical bloc aligned with the United States in the Cold War, operates on a mutual defense understanding in an effort to stand united against the French-led Council of Industrial Countries. NATO was founed in 1965 by the USA, Alaska, Turkey, Portugal, England and Colombia, and has expanded to ten members since then, adding Oceania, Iceland, Syria and Egypt in the late 1980's and early 1990's.
