Klot Lolé was the son of Morenjj Lasara and Arie Kol, the grandson of Eirtaé Lasara and Kitpat Arthi, and a weaponsmaker during the days of the Galactic Alliance. Originally born on Coruscant, though he considered Holt to be his homeworld, he was eleven years old when his father died in the early stages of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, and sixteen when his mother perished as one of the war's last casualties. He was taken in and mentored by his grandmother's fellow former handmaidens, particularly by Yané Carinda. He eventually inherited her business and ran into in the early days of the new Galactic Empire.
