Dr. Bergin was a surgeon in the Season 1 episode The Socratic Method. He was portrayed by actor John Prosky. When the team diagnosed Lucy Palmeiro with a liver tumor, they soon realized it was too large under the surgical guidelines for a surgeon to risk removing it. To fool the surgeon, they injected the tumor with ethanol to shrink it. They then hid the larger measurement from the chart.
