Chulak is a Free Jaffa planet in the Milky Way Galaxy, located approximately 2,000 light years from Earth, formerly occupied and controlled by the System Lord Apophis. As the first world under Goa'uld domination to openly revolt against its false gods, Chulak is regarded as the cradle of the Jaffa Rebellion, a distinction only reinforced by the number of rebel leaders hailing from its surface; the first democratic Chancellor of the new Jaffa government, Bra'tac, lived most of his life on the planet. After falling to the Ori during their crusade, Chulak emerged stronger than ever, and went on to become the new capital of the Free Jaffa Nation when Dakara was devastated.
