The Hill Valley Payroll Substation was a financial institution on 8th Street in Hill Valley. Griff Tannen and his gang coerced Martin McFly, Jr. to rob the facility; however, Marty Jr. was caught in the act, tried in a data-court and sent to the State Penitentiary for 15 years. His sister Marlene attempted to break him out, but was also caught, and sentenced to 20 years in jail.
