The Meta-cognitive processor, or MCP, is a device that enables or enhances artificial intelligence in robots. The MCP is produced by the Vergis Corporation. Daniel Graystone asked Joseph Adama to use his connections to acquire an MCP, since he believed that was all he needed to complete his Cylon. He downloaded a copy of his daughter's avatar into the MCP, destroying the original avatar, and the program used to create it, in the process. Daniel installed the MCP into a Cylon, but a software error appeared to destroy the personal data within the MCP, leaving the MCP's original capabilities intact. ("Pilot")
