Napoleon "Neech" Manley was a death row inmate convicted for double murder after a holdup at a Florida liquor store. The actual gunman was killed in the holdup and Manley was the getaway driver. Despite this, Manley is sentenced to death. While in prison, Manley swore vengeance against five men who did wrong against him immediately before being executed on the electric chair. A strong believer in reincarnation and a philosopher, Neech succeeded in returning from death to exact his revenge. Neech's name may be a reference to the German philosopher Nietzsche, or the pronounciation of the of the Sanskrit word neecha, meaning debilitated or lowly.
