The Arthur and Area Fire Department was located in the Village of Arthur. It covered the village and surrounding townships of Arthur, Peel, West Garafraxa and West Luther. In 1999, Arthur was merged with other area municipalities to form Wellington North. The AAFD and Mount Forest Fire Department continued to exist as separate entities after amalgamation, but in 2012, they were also merged to form Wellington North Fire Services.
