Gaysd Tel was a male Bajoran in the 24th century. He had at least one sibling who in turn had a daughter, his niece. In 2370 Gaysd was stationed on Deep Space 9 working as a security officer. In that year he along with Battes Ang and Miles O'Brien attempted to guard one of the stations weapon tail towers from rampaging hungry juvenile Horta. Unfortunately despite heavy phaser bombardment from the group the Horta persisted and broke past to consume DS9's defences. (DS9 novel: Devil in the Sky)
