The 2009 series refers to the current Strawberry Shortcake continuity first introduced in 2009. This is also the third generation of the series, not including the brief revamp by THQ in 1991. In late 2008, American Greetings rebooted the series with redesigned characters and changed personalities. The 2003 Strawberry Shortcake franchise was short lived however, with the new updated Strawberry Shortcake cast, the show appeals to a wide variety of people.
