The etymology of Saharonati comes from the Semitic word "Saharon"/"Sahar", which means crescent. Ideally, this is the lingua franca of the fertile crescent. It is based upon the Akkadian, Aramaic, Sumerian, Phoenician, Hebrew and Arabic languages, to created a pan-Msopotamian lingua franca. It is based upon near-eastern, Semitic linguistics and grammar. The word Saharonti, for the language, is the shortage of the full "Har-LiĊĦannati Har-Saharonati", meaning "the Crescentian tongue".
