Gaston Lefou was a private in Zion's military who worked as a gate guard in the Fourth Age. He received a letter from a higher-up which offered him a promotion and better income if he was not as thorough with investigating visitors on a particular day, to which he agreed. After a terrorist attack resulted from his slip-up, Lefou tried to act like nothing had happened, but was soon arrested by Arl Sandersen's Bold Brigade mercenaries who killed most of the guards resisting arrest. Wishing to avenge his comrades' deaths and knowing that getting too involved in the mystery of the author of the letter would only get him in more trouble, Lefou lured Arl into his house by promising to give him the incriminating letter and tried to kill the mercenary captain there. However, Lefou's plan backfired
