The Dark Koopatrol is an enemy that was featured in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Like the Dark Koopa and its Paratroopa counterpart, Dark Koopatrols are native to the dark tunnels of the Pit of 100 Trials. The Dark Koopatrols possess all the abilities of a regular Koopatrol, but have a higher attack and defensive power. Their hit points are also more than three times that of a regular Koopatrol. There is one named Dark Koopatrol known as "The Koopinator". He is the second to last fight in the Glitz Pit, the fighting tournament during chapter 3 of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
