The Revolution of 1991 (Russ: Революция 1991 года/Revoljucija 1991 goda) was an Alaskan popular political movement that occurred in the early 1990's. While referred to as the Revolution of 1991 due to that year's political turmoil, riots, instability and the abdication of Tsar Alexander III, it was in fact a multi-year process that ended dually with the Liberal Revolution in the January 1992 general election and the constitutional amendments of 1994 and 1997. It is considered the beginning of Alaska's "Liberal Era," which lasted until 2002.
