Stone giant lords are monsters in ADOM. They are very tough and strong, and can shoot rocks with great power. They often drop the slings they use to fire rocks when they killed. Though they tend to show up as mid-to-late game monsters, it is possible to encounter them in the High Mountain Village — these may or may not be hostile. Hostile stone giant lords are a major threat to early game PCs that started the game by venturing through the Unremarkable Dungeon. Unless the PC has some exceptionally powerful bolt spells or missiles, it is advised in this situation they run towards the hidden exit out of the HMV as defensively as possible as soon as they are struck by a very powerful rock.
