Sir Ralph Daniel Makinson Littler (2 October 1835 – 23 November 1908) was a barrister and local politician. Born in Derbyshire, he was educated in London and was called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 1857 and made a bencher of the Middle Temple in 1882. He "took silk" to become a Queen's Counsel in 1873 and was knighted in 1902. He wrote a number of books on public law and became counsel to a number of railway companies and was made a Associate of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 1877. He died at his Kensington home and was buried in Hampstead.
