"O generation of vipers" (Greek γεννημα εχιδνων) is a phrase taken from various speeches by the Jesus Christ in which he excoriated the hypocrisies and lack of faith among his listeners, particularly the Jewish leadership of the time. Generation of Vipers was also the title of a 1942 book by Philip Wylie which criticized American society.
