Eirik Jakob Haaroldson was born on the Human colony of Venus 2246, being one of the first Humans to be born on the planet after the first wave of colonists made landfall five years earlier. Entering the Naval Academy as soon as he graduated High School, he joined the Academy and participated in the Saturnian Rebellion on the side of Earth. His exceptional tactical skills earned him multiple promotions within the Earth Stellar Naval Corps. He soon became Admiral of the 2nd Fleet (VDF). When the Venusian Riots ensued 20 years later, he caught the eye of the rebels that orchestrated it.
