In 1936, the Bantu Wind was docked in Cairo, when its captain, Simon Katanga was contacted by Sallah about obtaining passage for two of his friends and some cargo. Later that night, Sallah showed up with Indiana Jones, Marion Ravenwood, and the boxed Ark of the Covenant, recently earlier that day by Jones from the Nazis. Sallah made sure that Katanga understood the importance of the job and then bid farewell to his American friends. After receiving a kiss from Ravenwood, he strutted down the street, singing the song A British Tar, and interacting with some of the dockworkers on break.
