Lawrence Dicente, who liked to call himself Dice,was a graduate of MIT, and in 1998 was working in Paris for Keram Enterprises, a toy manufaturing company. He was an expert computer designer and programmer, AI expert, and world class computer gamer. MacLeod arrived at the computer room, and knocked Dice out. When the man revived, MacLeod told him in no uncertain terms that everything was real, that this was no simulation. Dice, frightened of Marek, made a deal with MacLeod, and Dice used his monitors to help MacLeod.
