Avery Jessup (portrayed by Elizabeth Banks) is a financial reporter for CNBC and the host of her show, The Hot Box with Avery Jessup. She first met her future husband Jack Donaghy when he was a guest on her show alongside Walter Stein. The couple was married a year later and had a daughter, Elizabeth "Liddy" Donaghy. At the end of Season 5, Avery traveled to North Korea as part of NBC News' Hot Blondes in Weird Places Initiative and was kidnapped by North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il. She returned at the end of Season 6 to renew hers and Jack's wedding vows, but they ended up getting divorced.
